"Hot Dog"

Evalie Says...

Kate is very interested in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (the tv show on Disney). She won't watch the show, but like all other cartoons she thoroughly enjoys the songs. If you are not up to date on your cartoons, you must check out the "hot dog" song. This song is not the theme song for the show, but it is played at the end of every episode. I find myself singing the song while teaching...It is quite addicting.

Anyway, Kate now requests the song to us by bringing the remote to us and saying "hot". Or she will head into the computer/spare bedroom and stand in front of the computer desk saying "hot" and dancing (Josh has introduced Kate to YouTube). She just can't get enough of the song. We spend what feels like hours listening to the song over and over again. Josh and I have each of the character's dances down. I'm sure anyone watching from the windows is getting pure entertainment!!

Oh Where Oh Where Have the Rapps Been?

Evalie Says...

If I could add hours onto the end of the day, I would. I have found myself in the past month staring at the clock late at night thinking where has my day gone? We promise that we haven't forgotten about our blog. We have just been a little on the busy side...

If you didn't alreday know, Josh and I are both going back to school right now. Josh is taking classes at Mt. Mercy, a small Catholic College down the road from where we live. He is hoping to finish up with his degree in business management in a year from now. He has class every Thursday night from 5:30 to 9:30. Thursdays are Kate and Mommy night. As for me, I am taking classes from Drake University in order to get my master's in educational leadership. I'm lucky that they have an off-site cohort here in Cedar Rapids. About every other weekend I have class all day on Saturday and Sunday. After Kate goes to bed, we find oursleves reading, writing papers or grading papers (only me).

We thought the best way to catch our readers up to our latest adventures from the past month (or two) was to post various pictures.

We promise to blog more often...

I have tried numerous times to put videos up on the blog, and I have never been successful. Today I played a little bit with it, and I think I might have mastered them (a little bit of reformatting goes a long way). Here are three videos from Christmas. The first one is from Christmas Eve after church. We were unable to get home to see Sue, Dave and Shelby, and they had sent their gifts to us. We opened them on Christmas Eve. Kate is busy opening her gift from Aunt Shelby...notice how much she loved the books vs. the socks.

The last two are from when we were in Hugo, MN visiting Grandpa Loren and Kelly. Grandpa Loren bought her a rocking horse for Christmas. Great Grandma Rapp helped her ride for a little bit...

I hope to get pictures up soon of our Christmas and New Years.

Evalie Says...

In the past few weeks with all the wonderful visits to the doctor, I have begun to think about life and family even more than I normally do. I came upon this quote the other day. I simply fell in love with it, and I wanted to share it with my family and my friends (also family)...

"In truth a family is what you make it. It is made strong, not by number of heads counted at the dinner table, but by the rituals you help family members create, by the memories you share, by the commitment of time, caring, and love you show to one another, and by the hopes for the future you have as individuals and as a unit."

Who doesn't love Santa?

Kate Says:

Today after church and a nap, Mommy, Daddy and I ventured out to Daddy's work for their Children's Christmas Party. We waited patiently in line to catch a glimpse of Santa. The line ventured out of the auditorium into the cafeteria. As the line slowly inched forward, I become very excited for my first encounter with Santa Claus. Once we got close to the beginning of the line, I got so excited to see him. I just couldn't help myself and wanted to run on the stage to meet him! It finally was my turn, and I got on his lap for a big smile and wished for a wagon.

We also got to play lots of games and make some fun crafts. Mommy and Daddy let me see a clown who made me a ladybug balloon. They even let me put on this tattoo thing on my arm, It kinda confused me. I keep trying to pick up the snowman and play with it, but it won't come off my arm.

I couldn't stay awake on the ride home...I can't wait to go to see Santa again next year!!
