Snow Adventures

Evalie Says...

This morning we headed out to the front lawn as a family to enjoy some snow making adventures. Kate and Josh needed to finish their snow castle, and I was in the mood to make a snowman. While Josh and Kate put on our snow gear, Kate began to check herself out in the mirror. We overhead her talking to her reflection saying...

"We are going to play in the snow, make our castle, make a bridge and make snowballs. We will throw them at Shiner because she will be the dragon."

We also headed over the the middle school near our house to go down a few small hills with the sled. Kate and I went down first. She hated it because it was too big of a hill and too scary. Josh convinced her to go down again with him. Notice how she scolds him at the end of the video because it wasn't a small hill!

While we were playing, somehow my keys fell out of my pocket. I thought I had the pocket zipped, but apparently I did not. When we got back to the house, we had no keys to get back in. Kate and I waited on the front steps until he came running back down our street with them in his hand. He totally saved the day!

Friday Nights

Evalie Says...

Today when I picked Kate up from daycare, she was outside playing in the snow. When we got home, she wanted to play at our house for awhile. Josh and Kate began making a snow castle which they will finish tomorrow since it began to get dark.

When Kate come inside and was warming up, she wouldn't stop blinking her eyes!

(Shiner tried to jump on me while filming this.)

After having pizza and watching a movie for our Friday night adventures, we decided it was time for our bedtime snack. I thought ice cream sounded the best, but Kate wanted to eat tomato. Whose kid is this?

Packages

Evalie Says...

Valentine's Day must be around the corner. This week we received a package from Grandma Sue and Grandpa Dave with a new copy of Toy Story 3!
The next day, we got a package from Grandma Henery and Grandma Sandie with a cool counting book!

When we get home and see a package at the door, she squeals and asks if the package is for her!

I hate to tell you Grandma Sue, but the box has been more of a hit than anything.
It has really allowed us to reenact Toy Story 3.

Ice Staking

Evalie Says...

We went ice staking today! It was a bit rough in the beginning because she was very unstable. Then she become miss independent and didn't want to hold our hands anymore.

"I can do it, myself!" is what she kept telling us over and over again.

Finally, she began to make some progress.

We can't wait to go back again!

Trying to figure this new thing out....

Evalie Says....

I've been very busy this week taking pictures left and right of my little bug. I think they are turning out very nicely. We do have a bit of a problem when I ask Kate to smile at the camera. She says, "Cheese" but won't look by direction at all. We will have to work on this...

Playing Playdough in our jammies

Josh doing what he does best!

Making sure Shiner doesn't get her slice of cheese...

We had an early out for the approaching snow storm. With the change in the schedule at school, I didn't get to eat lunch. I grabbed McDonald's on the way home. Kate fell asleep with her hands in the fries container!

It is hard to wait for your nails to dry!

The blizzard arrived and Josh tried to snowblow in it!

I have pretty nails...

Princess Belle, our favorite.

I'm a bad parent...

Evalie Says....

Kate just got the movie Beauty and the Beast and Snow White for Christmas, which has taken the princess infatuation to a whole new level. We watch one princess movie every day. Poor Josh got Netflix for Christmas, and the majority of the movies that brought to our house are Disney Princess movies. Tears were involved when we had to send back Sleeping Beauty and The Little Mermaid.

Anyway, not the point of the blog post. Kate has a little microphone that sings "Be Our Guest" from Beauty and the Beast. Since we watch the movie so often at our house, she really has the words down. She found her microphone in her toy box and began singing around the house. I decided that I needed to get it on film. So I asked her to start singing for me while I recorded. Suddenly she became very shy and wouldn't do it. Finally, I convinced her to do it.

I'm a bad parent, I couldn't stop laughing when she fell.
