Evalie Says... Today we went to Old McDonald Farm with my teacher friends and their children. We haven't been there since last summer, and I remembered how much I love the place. Kate and I might have to start making a weekly trip!
Our bedtime routine includes reading a few nighttime bedtime stories. We have a disagreement with Kate every evening with the amount of books we read before we go to bed. Kate would love for us to read twenty books, while we try to limit her picking out five books to read. As you can guess, we read closer her amount than our amount. I just can't deny her a love of books!
Kate trying to decide what her selection will be this evening.
Kate loves her pool and swimming in it. She takes a little swim every day. Most days, she convinces me way too early in the morning to head out to the backyard. When she gets out there, she ends up taking her clothes off or leaving them on and jumping right in! She is my little fish...
Today Izzie came over while her mom got her hair cut.
Izzie liked the glasses in Kate's doctor kit.
Kate and Izzie enjoyed reading books together. I promise that Kate liked reading to Izzie, the picture looks like she is scared of her but she was reading to her.
So, I have another paper to do for this class. Yes, this is paper number 10! I can't begin to imagine what my life will be like when grad school is done. After this weekend, I will have only one, yes you heard that right, one class left! I will be one pretty happy camper come August! Anyway, I sent Kate to visit Linda (our daycare) for the day while I went out to the libraries looking for research. I spent the rest of the day reading and taking notes. Now I better get writing so I have something to turn in on Saturday.
Kate has learned how to use the sprayer on the hose. She had a blast spraying both Josh and I after dinner in the backyard! We had a blast running from her!
There are many reasons why I love my husband and think he is amazing, but this is just one reason. He is not a Hallmark kind of guy. For Father's day, I don't have to prove to anyone or shout from any mountain proclaiming what an amazing guy he is. Why, because he already knows it and anyone who has met him also knows it. I'm really thankful that he isn't a Hallmark kind of guy, even if that means my Valentine's day isn't as exciting as the girl next door!
Today, we did what Josh loves most. We went to the movies...
Tonight when Kate put her pajamas on, she decided to wear them 70's style!
Notice that getting Kate to look at the camera anymore is getting harder. Do you think it has to do with the fact that I make her take a picture every day?
My good friend, Tifani, has moved to Chicago and is no longer teaching with me (tears). When cleaning out her classroom, she had a huge collection of stickers that she felt Kate would love. I agreed to them not realizing that there would be stickers everywhere in my house. Everyday I find another collection somewhere...
Josh won a slip and slide at work for employee appreciation days. Kate and Josh were having so much fun that I decided to join them. After about a hundred times down the slide, I hit the pool at the bottom with my knee just right to make a tear in the side. Oh well, it was sure fun while it lasted. I guess that is why the age limit says 12 : )
Today we spent a little time with Jill and Bruce saying goodbye before they head home to Hawaii. We were able to watch them open their quilt that Jill's mom made as their wedding gift. I just love her family, and I am sad to see the celebration come to an end.
Kate did great, but she did entertain us for a bit at the beginning of the ceremony with a few laps around the alter. She ended up sitting with daddy for the remainder of the ceremony. Everyone thought she was a hoot! I, on the other hand, was a little embarrassed.
Now for an a collection of photos of the day which I promise I have more than what I'm putting up. I can't wait to see the photographer's pictures since they were the ones who got the only shot of my whole family : )
