Today was the day I headed down to the University of Iowa for my ICD implant surgery. I was laying in my hospital bed this evening and realized that I hadn't taken the picture of the day. Josh quickly called my brother-in-law, John. He saved the day for us.

Daddy, "Kate, it's time to get up."
Kate, "No!"
Daddy, "Yes."
Kate, "No!"
Daddy, "Yes"
Kate, "Nooo!"
A few minutes later after she has not moved an inch in her bed. Josh has gone to the kitchen, prepared her cereal, and entered her room again.
Daddy, "Kate, it's time to get up."
Kate, "But daddy, I don't want to get up."
Daddy, "We have to get up to go to Linda's."
Kate, "I don't want to go to Linda's."
Daddy leaves her room.
I entered her room to find her in this position.
Bless her heart....
I feel her pain...
I wish I could have stayed in bed today...
Or better yet, I wish I could have curled up in bed with her...

January 7,2010 #2
Well, today needed a multiple photo post. Perhaps it is because I have the camera ready at all times to catch the 'picture of the day'. Regardless of the reason, so many great things happened after I posted today's photo. I just needed to share them all...
Again...Bless her Heart!
Josh and I were so sad when the famous family sunglasses broke tonight. These sunglasses go back to my sister's bonfire shower at my Aunt and Uncle's. These glasses hold great memories of the fabulous times my family has when we are together.
Kate has been wearing them for quite some time now. Lately they have been her "goggles" like in the movie, UP. I think a little duck tape can repair them?!?
Last of all.
These are her 'action' shots. Tonight after her bath, she ran around like Shiner does after she gets a bath.
It quite entertaining!

I made a big mistake.
Last night I took the bullet and lubed up Kate’s hair with baby oil to get rid of some cradle cap that still lingers in her hair. I went a little crazy! I washed her hair twice last night trying to get it the baby oil out of her hair. Needless to say, I sent her to daycare this morning looking like a greasy sixth grader. Our daycare lady even tried to help me out, and she washed Kate’s hair twice in her kitchen sink. We have washed her hair two more times this evening, and it is starting to look like a normal two year olds. Today’s picture shows my little grease ball after school today. The picture doesn’t do justice!!
The good news, the cradle cap is still there : )

Today is a two picture day. Shiner went in for surgery today to remove two tumors/masses. One was malignant, and the other was benign. We will find out in a few weeks what grade the malignant tumor was. We are hoping for the best! She is a trooper, and we love her so much!
(We didn't think you wanted to see both wounds, the other is pretty gross.)

The Challenge
I'm nuts, I know it! I have pictures and postings that go back to Thanksgiving that I need to post, but I've wanted to do the photo a day challenge for quite some time. So, I decided on our long drive to South Dakota that I will attempt it. I'm going to put my best foot forward and try my hardest! Who know how long I will make it? I might make it a week, a month, 3 months, 6 months or even the whole year. No matter how far I get, I'm sure you will enjoy all the pictures I will share.
Enjoy our year in photos!
Love,
Evalie
