While in Mexico, my niece, Jessica Faith, got engaged. Tony asked her to marry her on their Spring Break trip to California. We love Tony, and we are so excited for them. My brother would be so proud of his daughter.

Vacations are Fun

Vacations are fun, but nothing is better than coming home to a welcome home party like this. I sure missed my little girl.

Evalie Says...
When Kristin and I both were diagnosis with cardiomyopathy and received our ICDs, we decided that a bucket list was in order. We put many big ticket items on our lists but also some small little things we want to learn or do. Some of the big ticket items were done this year. I was able to cross off attending a Nebraska game with dad and my sisters this year while Kristin was able to cross off a trip to Mexico with her sisters and hubbies (plus her brother-in-law and his wife). I'm hoping to cross off another big ticket item in the next few months (I'll keep you posted).
The whole trip was something that I will never forget. We were never vacation people growing up, and I have never understood that whole concept until now. After spending my first day doing this...
And seeing this smile on my husband's face...
Has shown me that vacations were meant for me.
Why did I wait until I was 30-years old to learn this?

The first day on the beach...
Dinner time!
We went off the main drag to eat at this restaurant.
It was the best Mexican food I have ever had.
It was a bit scary at first, but I'd go back in a heartbeat.
A little day trip to Tulum...
Dinner downtown again...
Back to the beach on our last full day...
Yes, we were there for St. Paddy's day. When you go with two sets of Flahertys,
you have to celebrate.
On the last day, I got up and watched the sunrise by myself. It was nice moment until the nice Univeristy of Wisconsin boys got home from Coco Bongo (night club)...
