Tuesday is a great night for daddy pony rides.
If you have noticed the big girl panties in the past few posts, please don't ask. It is not going well. I'm not sure Kate is really ready, but Josh and I are ready to get rid of the diapers : )

Congrats Daddy!
Josh finished his last night class in his bachelors degree from Mt Mercy this evening. We often joke about how he attended seven different school throughout the last ten years and giggle about the long process. But in reality, I'm so proud of all his hard work. He is always a big inspiration in my life. Get ready for the big graduation party in May!

Today we headed to Omaha for the Henery Christmas at my aunt and uncle's house. I haven't seen some of my Henery cousins in five years, so it was really nice to spend some quality time together. I wish we could all get together more often. We had quite the entertainment from my cousin Desi's white elephant gift. You will have to ask me about her gift. Anyway I wasn't thinking, and I left my camera in the car. We also forgot to take it down to the pool with us in the evening at the hotel. I guess we were having too much fun to take pictures. Kate is getting to be such a champ in the water. She kept telling Josh, "I swim myself." She kept trying to jump out of his hands! I think we really need to enroll in some swimming lessons...
Here are a few shots of Kate in the hotel room before we headed to bed...

Today we headed across the state of Iowa to my dad's house in Sioux City. It was very late when we got there, but all the cousins were still awake. The girls thought it would be fun to jump on Grandma and Grandma's bed. While trying to catch the giggles and laughter of the girls, I caught my daughter kicking her legs like a wild women. One of her kicks hit Leyla right in the arm! Check out Leyla's face!!

Have you ever had one of those days?
Well I had / still having one of those days. Things just kept piling on me as the day went on, and I found myself almost at a breaking point numerous times throughout the day. The tears finally came when we entered the house from our family trip to Target get swim suits for this weekend. I did not come home with one.
When I walked in the door, I didn't notice the mess at first. Then I saw it on the couch. I had gotten my cookbook out this evening because I was going to make my first recipe out of it. This cookbook is one written from my favorite blogger, Ree Drummond. You should check her out. It was my Christmas present from my husband this year. I loved this gift because we haven't exchanged gifts in years to save money, and well I also really love Ree and my husband.
Anyways, either someone came to the door or there was commotion in the neighborhood. Either way Shiner had some energy to waste. She has never eaten or torn apart a book before, but I guess there is a first time for everything. I know it is just a possession, but it just hit my breaking point today.
It is now after ten at night. Josh is in putting Kate to bed at this ungodly hour since our dinner and Target trip took FOREVER. I am trying to organize for our Henery Christmas this weekend. I still need to grade some 6th grade math tests, because I'm dumb and promised to return them tomorrow. I'm praying that they do well on them, because I don't think I can handle another disappointment today.

Josh had night class this evening. Normally he has class on Monday night, but his class was canceled due to a snowy and windy evening. It was just the girls at the house this evening.
I left Kate in the kitchen by the fridge playing with her letters while I quickly visited the bathroom. While I was in there I could hear a little commotion in the kitchen. When I returned back to the kitchen only a few short minutes, she had gotten the jar of jelly out of the fridge, pulled the chair over to the counter, climbed up on the counter, open the cupboards, got out the peanut butter and the bread. When she saw me out of her mouth came, "Momma, I make peanut butter jelly sandwich?"
I quickly grabbed the camera to get the picture, and then we had a serious talk about how climbing up on the counter is very dangerous and how we can get hurt if we fall off. We finished our heart to heart talk with a nice pbj.

(no criticizing the items and amount of food in my cupboard)
