This weekend we celebrated the amazing story of God's love by sharing in fellowship with our family. Josh's dad, brother, grandparents and aunt come to spend time with us.
We went to the Easter Egg Hunt at the church (sorry for lack of pictures)...
Back in October, I wrote about my Aunt Annie and her Daffodils. As soon as I saw the first daffodil pop up in our neighborhood, I started checking the ones I planted. Each time I checked, nothing was peaking through. In my heart, I had giving up
Josh and I have not sleep well in the past three weeks after returning from the weekend at AAU state. We have been doing home projects on crack! We decided that every project that has been on our to-do list needed to get done. We've torn the carpet up on our stairs, touched up paint throughout our house, redone the front door, built steps for our side door, finished building my closet upstairs, put down new mulch, built an identical flower edging on the other side of the backyard, fixed the electrical in the garage, and finished our semi-man cave in the basement to name a few plus did some major spring cleaning.
I can't believe the work has been accomplished. Here are a few of the things that we are pretty proud to be crossed off our list...
Today while Josh worked on projects on the home Kate and I went to the outlet malls to do some shopping with my best friend, Alyssa, and her two little girls. It wasn't the same as our high school Sioux Falls shopping trips, but it was just as fun because I was in their company.
My Aunt Annie's first husband and Molly's dad, Duane, was killed by a drunk driver. A few years later, Annie married Paul. Duane's nickname was Gooby. He owned a 1967 Shelby GT that was his pride and joy. When he passed away, the car went into storage for quite some time until Annie and Paul got it up and running in the early 90's. The car ended up not getting driven for some time and then needed work again. It was being stored in a barn back in Alta.
After Annie had passed away, Paul needed something to keep his mind occupied. He decided to go and begin restoring the car. He did it as a secret from all of us to surprise us all, mostly to surprise Molly.
So on Sunday afternoon, after he dropped Molly off at the airport (she was home for her best friend's bachelorette party) he drove into our driveway with his secret. Since Molly had seen it, the secret was no longer needed. The license plate reads MOLS67.
It was pretty cool to see it up and running again. The sound of that car is amazing... It reminds me of my mother's family.
Shelby, Josh's baby sister, has grown up. Somewhere through the years she has transformed into a young lady. Shelby and I began our relationship back when Josh and I started dating. She was only three years old, my daughter's age! Now she is in her freshman year of high school, which makes Josh and I feel pretty darn old. We have even noticed that we aren't as cool as we used to be when she was younger...
But one thing is for sure, we are ubber proud of her and her talents. The girl is a softball and volleyball rockstar! It is so much fun to watch her and her talents since I never played organized sports because well lets be honest, I'm just not coordinated (Thus the super embarrassing years of being a cheerleader, which I never like to admit to anyone who knows me as an adult). So, watching Shelby play bring so much excitement into my blood.
Anyway, Shelby has been paying for what seems to be years on an AAU volleyball team with some of her classmates. Her school team will be dynamite when they are all upperclassmen and can all play on varsity (which Shelby did this year). So for the past three years, her AAU team has made it to AAU state. Last year, they got second but this year they were able to beat the team that they lost to last year. It was a very intense match, causing my heart to have more palpitations than it normally does.
I decided to turn the video camera on for the last few plays of the last match. Notice that while I am shooting, I become in the way of Josh and he pushes me out of his way to see. He might have had a few palpitations also.
Needless to say, we were so happy and proud of her. Shelby was named part of the All-Tournament team, which was pretty darn cool. This also lead to her being asked to play on a traveling team in Omaha for the next few weeks. What a stud!
Pretty proud parents...
Pretty happy girls...

Shelby and her teammate that also made All-Tournament...
Shelby and her bff...
Enjoying a swim after a long day of watching volleyball...
While in Mexico, my niece, Jessica Faith, got engaged. Tony asked her to marry her on their Spring Break trip to California. We love Tony, and we are so excited for them. My brother would be so proud of his daughter.
