Disney Princess on Ice

3/5/11
Evalie Says...

The first weekend of March began our world travel. We had scheduled something for each weekend in March (not realizing how draining this would be on us). Our first trip was to head up north to visit Grandpa Loren and spent a night with Kate's Henery cousins.

Grandpa Loren had purchased tickets for Kate to go see Disney Princess on Ice for Valentine's Day. Kate was beyond excited to see and meet the princesses. She had told everyone that she was going. We even got a new Belle dress on our stop at the toy story on the way show from grandpa. I kept joking to Loren and Josh that they needed to be purchasing a prince outfit to wear.

When we got there and walked into the Target center, Kate's mouth dropped when she saw the stage. It was well worth the trip to see the joy on Kate's face while watching the princesses sing and skate. I think the boys had an okay time, too!

And dinner with her cousins...

Molly Kate

Evalie Says...

My cousin who we named Kate's Godmother, Molly, was home for her Spring Break the first week of March.

Molly, who is in optometry school, gave Kate a bit of an eye examine. It appears that she will more than likely be nearsighted (Henery blessed), but that glasses aren't needed yet. It was super cute, and Kate enjoyed giving Molly an examine with her doctor kit when she was finished.

We are so blessed to have Molly in our lives. She has been such an inspiration to me, and I can only hope that Kate grows up admiring her strength, her talents and values.

Crazies

Evalie Says...

March was one of the craziest month of our lives, and it appears that April is joining suit as we find ourselves in a whirlwind. We had many adventures March. We have been busy with travels, vacations, work, events, and many home projects. At the end of the night Josh and I found ourselves falling asleep before our heads hit our pillows.

Since our lives have been pretty crazy, I have put the blog on the back burner. So sorry to those followers (I'm hoping there are some out there) about my non-existence. I'm pledging to get myself caught up. Last year when I did the 365 project, I found solace in my writing. With all the craziness, I think I need this "me" time once again. So, I promise to keep you updated in the next few days and weeks on what we have been up to and our new (exciting) adventures as we embark on them.

Snow Adventures

Evalie Says...

This morning we headed out to the front lawn as a family to enjoy some snow making adventures. Kate and Josh needed to finish their snow castle, and I was in the mood to make a snowman. While Josh and Kate put on our snow gear, Kate began to check herself out in the mirror. We overhead her talking to her reflection saying...

"We are going to play in the snow, make our castle, make a bridge and make snowballs. We will throw them at Shiner because she will be the dragon."

We also headed over the the middle school near our house to go down a few small hills with the sled. Kate and I went down first. She hated it because it was too big of a hill and too scary. Josh convinced her to go down again with him. Notice how she scolds him at the end of the video because it wasn't a small hill!

While we were playing, somehow my keys fell out of my pocket. I thought I had the pocket zipped, but apparently I did not. When we got back to the house, we had no keys to get back in. Kate and I waited on the front steps until he came running back down our street with them in his hand. He totally saved the day!

Friday Nights

Evalie Says...

Today when I picked Kate up from daycare, she was outside playing in the snow. When we got home, she wanted to play at our house for awhile. Josh and Kate began making a snow castle which they will finish tomorrow since it began to get dark.

When Kate come inside and was warming up, she wouldn't stop blinking her eyes!

(Shiner tried to jump on me while filming this.)

After having pizza and watching a movie for our Friday night adventures, we decided it was time for our bedtime snack. I thought ice cream sounded the best, but Kate wanted to eat tomato. Whose kid is this?

Packages

Evalie Says...

Valentine's Day must be around the corner. This week we received a package from Grandma Sue and Grandpa Dave with a new copy of Toy Story 3!
The next day, we got a package from Grandma Henery and Grandma Sandie with a cool counting book!

When we get home and see a package at the door, she squeals and asks if the package is for her!

I hate to tell you Grandma Sue, but the box has been more of a hit than anything.
It has really allowed us to reenact Toy Story 3.

Ice Staking

Evalie Says...

We went ice staking today! It was a bit rough in the beginning because she was very unstable. Then she become miss independent and didn't want to hold our hands anymore.

"I can do it, myself!" is what she kept telling us over and over again.

Finally, she began to make some progress.

We can't wait to go back again!
